My Favorite Images - Cape Neddick "Nubble" Lighthouse
Here is the next photo in my ongoing series for my favorite images.
This one is of the Cape Neddick or Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine USA. It is said this lighthouse is the "one of Maine's most photographed lighthouses".
This shot was taken at Sohier Park in York, Maine.
The station was established in 1879. The present lighthouse was built in 1879 and was automated in 1987.
Construction materials: Cast iron lined with brick
Height of tower: 41 feet; Height of focal plane: 88 feet
Original optic: Fourth-order Fresnel (1879); Present optic: Fourth-order Fresnel (1928)
